Carnets Parisiens is a grand opéra de chambre, a private notebook about Miika’s experiences in Paris. It combines the culinary extravaganza, seeing Notre Dame burn from your own window, the idea Paris as the center of control and wealth and the vocal specialties of the French language. It is funny, intense, absolutely too much and not shamed of it. 

The piece is dedicated to Camilla Hoitenga (flute), Eija Kankaanranta (kantele) and Piia Komsi (voice and cello). It is commissioned by Serge Tatar.

The piece will be premiered in parts during 2021.
